Aliki Christoforou is a Belgian-Greek visual artist who lives and works between Brussels and Paris.

After completing her studies in architecture in Paris, she worked as an architect and scenographer before deciding to take a break from her professional activities to join, in September 2020, the Master's degree of the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Visuels de la Cambre in Brussels. Her project «Anamnesis» made of photos taken during an extended hospitalization won the 2021 Libraryman Award and was edited and published by Libraryman editions.

Today, she is developing a practice that combines experimental photography and video. Her work, impregnated with her two cultures, is shifting between reality and fiction. It is articulated around urgent ecological and social issues and invites reflection on our present time. She likes to offer to the photographic practice another dimension and to carry the glance beyond the common use of the medium by detaching it from its indexical dimension. Linking the materiality of the images and their narratives, the darkroom becomes for her a field of experimentation that combines chemistry, light and time to reveal new ways of transposing not only the visible, but also the invisible.
